BUILDING MY WRITING EXPERIENCE

In undergrad, I studied linguistics, learning the fundamentals of language structure and how language can evolve between different people, places, and contexts.

I joined the Women Who Drone writing team after completing my BA in Linguistics and started writing articles for the company's blog. Despite having no prior knowledge of the drone industry,  I was able to gain insight through research and communicating with industry professionals.

I eventually rose to the position of senior editor and writer. In this position, I continued to write engaging content for the company blog and edited blog posts submitted by freelancers and guest writers.

During this time, I honed my writing and editing abilities as well as my expertise in researching and publishing online content. As a result, I am demonstrably detail-oriented, organized, and creative.

Young Teacher
MY TIME AS AN ESL INSTRUCTOR

I am an MA graduate of Georgia State University’s Applied Linguistics & ESL program, where I also earned a graduate TESOL certificate. During my program, I volunteered as an ESL teacher with LaAmistad, inc. to teach adult learners of various language backgrounds and proficiency levels.

After graduating, I began working as an adjunct ESL instructor, teaching online and in-person classes for adult learners. As an English instructor, I often explained complex grammar concepts, walked students through writing and editing, and provided effective feedback. Also, maintaining an engaging classroom environment required good leadership and creativity.

As an instructor, I found that writing and creating online content brought me more professional fulfillment. This realization led me to leave academia and join Market My Market as a full-time content writer. During my year-long tenure, I wrote over 300 pieces of content, including blog posts, landing pages, and newsletters, for over 40 clients in various industries.

These pieces of content adhered to SEO best practices, which helped my clients improve their online presence. My time at Market My Market deepened my understanding of digital marketing and improved my writing abilities.

From Full-Time to Freelancing

After leaving Market My Market, I continued to delve deeper into digital marketing principles. I started a new full-time position in content operations, where I use my data analytics, SEO, and copywriting skills daily. Additionally, I began freelancing, providing my services to clients in various industries.

All my experiences have given me the skills and knowledge to excel in my new roles, and I am excited to continue growing and developing in the digital marketing field. My diverse experiences have allowed me to develop a unique skill set that I am confident will be invaluable to any company in the digital marketing field.
